This is EXACTLY the reason I am so involved with Hero Inside Organization. The only time the public hears about the problem of heroin is after a few deaths make a big enough story to make the news. Its not helpful, its not precautionary, its not educational, its only adding to the shame that addicts have that keeps them from seeking help. The shameful stereotype that addicts (especially heroin addicts) are criminals, the poor, and people that are helpless and WANT to use the drug until it kills them. This is pure ignorance and is extremely disrespectful to the friends and family of addicts who see the true effects of the heroin problem. Glenn Cole Please come out to Hero Inside Day April 12th at Everett Moody Park (Longacre Park) in Fairview Heights. and hear from speakers including a county judge and a recovering addict and bring a little education into the problem that the media continues to skew.
