This is Fluffy who is felv pos and only a little over a year old. This year has been so tough watching three of his brothers die from this horrible disease. Now Fluffy is showing symptoms too. He is anemic with a pcv of 18 about two weeks ago. Hes lost almost two pounds over the past five months. Im doing everything I can right now to keep him as stable as possible. Hes currently on epo shots and prednisolone. He also gets a b12 injection weekly and Ive had him on interferon, lysine, pet tinic, and doxicycline. He is no where near as strong as his brother baby was but he is a trooper and trying his best. He mainly just wants to be snuggled but thats nothing new. He has to be the cuddliest cat Ive ever had. He is always on me and every night he sleeps right next to me usually sharing my pillow and will nudge me until I put my arms around him hugging him while we both fall asleep. Im trying to feed him as much as possible to help him gain back some weight but I think he must be the pickiest cat I have EVER had!! Good grief!! In the can variety I have tried EVERY SINGLE brand petsmart carries..lol. He will eat certain flavors of some of them but then gets tired of them. Currently he will not eat any flavor of loaf or souffle, turkey, crab, tuna...basically any fish...or broths. Only chicken or beef if it has lots of gravy. However some brands he still refuses to eat even if I seem to have followed the rule book...lol. Any other cat I would be like tough cookies but he needs to gain weight and always seems like he is starving. The only dry food he will eat right now is royal canin kitten food but Im fine with that. All I can say is thank goodness petsmart takes back food if your cat doesnt like it. Spoiled much though?? LOL. I sure love this little boy and obviously will do whatever it takes to keep him happy. Please send good thoughts to keep his anemia from getting worse. I cant lose him. Ive lost three in five months and I cant bear to lose my snuggle bug fluffy too.
