This is Gizmo today. Hes been off his meds for about 10 days now and hes went downhill to this point already. We saw the vet on Thursday with him and are going to resume the Doxy, but because it has to be specially compounded for his size, we havent gotten it back yet. Today he started limping again and acting like his entire hind section was sore. Hes lost a very noticeable amount of weight in a short period, skipping 3 entire days of eating altogether. He trembles all the time when hes not up walking around and looks miserable. He screams sometimes when you go to move him or pick him up. Like his body just aches all over. He was doing all this same stuff a month ago, but hed stopped doing it for almost 4 weeks and wasnt sore while on the Doxy. Is this how tick diseases work? Would there be any other explanation for his improvement while on doxycycline? Its super frustrating to see him sick like this all over again and not to know with absolute certainty, why.
