This is India shining ...... A 44-year-old woman was attacked with a machete in an ATM in the heart of Bangalore yesterday, leaving her severely injured. A psychopath follows her inside the ATM behind and brings down the shutters before threatening her first with a revolver and then a machete which he brought out of his bag. Coming close on the heels of a recent case where girls were harassed on a metro, Bangalore seems to have overtaken Delhi where women are unsafe. CCTV pictures of the attackers behavior are chilling and befitting only an animal. Our society is fast becoming tolerant of animal like behavior. Too much of rights have emboldened criminals, where some high paid layers have shown the way, how law can be taken for a ride, and how criminals can be saved, albiet at a cost. Just look at these lawyers appearing on TV whose appearance fees increases with their prominence on channels. Little wonder that vigilante justice system is favored by the common citizens. Unless the legal system dispenses justice quickly, criminals will keep feeling emboldened and shall keep making life miserable for law abiding citizens.
