This is Kenn, a Bachelor of Economics student from the University - TopicsExpress

This is Kenn, a Bachelor of Economics student from the University of Science, Malaysia, and he spent the first semester of 2014 at UWA on student exchange. He is proud to be a Malaysian Chinese who knows about six languages: Mandarin, Bahasa Malaysia, Hokkien, English (4th language), Cantonese, and a bit of Hainan. Sometimes he gets confused knowing too many languages but he’s glad he knows them all. He likes to play any kind of ball sports… table tennis, basketball, soccer, you name it.... but not cricket because Malaysia doesn’t have cricket. We first encountered Kenn on Instagram and soon wanted to learn more about his time on exchange. Here are Kenn’s five most memorable experiences on exchange at UWA: 1. One of the best thing about exchange program is definitely the weather! I was lucky enough to enjoy the summer, autumn and winter all in one semester where I could not enjoy it in Malaysia which has only summer for all season. Too bad Ive missed out the spring ={ 2. The time spent in UWA was incredibly short and fast as I was taking in something new: exposed to a totally different culture, different style of learning and teaching, different assessment system and not forgetting, getting know more friends both Australian and other internationals. I have learnt to be brave and get to know more about myself and also communicate with other people better. 3. UWA students are very blessed as UWA provides facilities that every student needs! Nice and comfortable libraries such as Reid library, Science library and Music library, I like Reid the most as it is very classic and even spent a night there! 4. Im over here to study... But am I really studying? Hell, partially no... apart from studying I also spent my weekend on travel. I travel at any chance I got. Perth has got a lot of nice attraction! 5. Word of advice: If you are thinking to apply student exchange program or not, I would definitely recommend you to do so. Just do it and you would never regret! Its likely to be the best decision of your undergraduate life! Did you know you can go on student exchange as a broadening unit? If you’re thinking of studying some place new and exciting, have a look through this website and contact the Study Abroad Office for more info: studyat.uwa.edu.au/study-abroad-and-exchange.
