This is Kenny Gs long time bassist, Vail Johnsons Bass solo which was played at the Nelum Pokuna Theatre, yesterday. Vail had lost his trademark Factor Bass en route to Colombo and was sourcing a 5 string bass in Colombo. The white Yamaha that he played was nowhere closer to his usual tone. The band was so damn disciplined and demonstrated a whole lot of attributes of musicianship.The entire concert was a beauty. They used Malinda Lowes sound system . Superb balance as if listening to a CD:-). And shared by Kamy Lye and Rio Ziegelaar with thanks. I could not afford the concert at Rs 20,000 for the most expensive, to the cheapest which is Rs 5000 which is one week of food.
