This is Rick Samuels, board member, and media director. In regards to the MRUSA Peoples Choice Award 2015 contest... No one actually asked us if we noticed all the votes from Russia and the Ukraine. During the pageant, facebook changed their rules for liking pictures. You no longer need to Like a page to Like a picture. Almost all of the messages and comments were, shes cheating!, youre cheating!, Russians arent allowed to vote! etc... The album in question, #1, was shared 254 times. Then, the 254 shares were shared, and those were shared, and those were shared. Also, many of you complaining, also sent messages with the shares to vote. Im guessing someone in Russia saw the post! All the girls liked each others photos in that album! Some of the committees that had a girl in the pageant, set up facebook pages, and blogs with links to the pageant facebook page. There were people complaining that, some people were voting for two or more pictures, and they should be disqualified Almost all of the messages/ comments stated that Russia should not be allowed to vote! Anyone, from anywhere in the world that has facebook, can vote. Black, White, Asian, Middle Eastern, European, Christian, Jew, prisoner in a county jail, or some kid in third grade can vote! The girls do not need to personally know who votes for them! After spending the past 5 days tracking the numbers and talking to facebook, we will have an answer to your questions wednesday evening 1/21/15.
