This is Samson. He came to us in March 2014. He was a pet but the people moved out of state and left him in the care of their son. Their neighbor checked on the squirrel and saw it was not bring cared for so she brought him to us. He was in a tiny metal cage that was about 12 inches high. He couldnt stand and he wasnt cleaned for at least 2 months. We had to use metal cutters to get him out of the cage because it was welded shut. He was suffering from metabolic bone disease and very depressed. His hind leg muscles had atrophied. Despite having a 6 ft cage he chose to sleep on the bottom in a blanket. He now had hammocks and sleep sacks but he was a frightened squirrel and just didnt understand. After many, many months of good nutrition, massages with essential oils and learning trust we are overjoyed to show you Samsons first signs of happiness. He is letting us pet him for the first time in this video!!!! The next videos are the first time he had ever played!!!!! What a blessing to witness!
