This is Schrades new high-value bushcraft series. Except they are - TopicsExpress

This is Schrades new high-value bushcraft series. Except they are not bushcraft-style knives. The blade thickness and length, the choil, the hollow grind, all disqualifies them. These are survival knives. So I wrote them protesting this misuse of the term bushcraft knife and explaining what a bushcraft knife is and its origins. Here is the reply: Thank you for contacting Taylor Brands. Thank you for the information on the founders of modern bushcraft and the specs that they consider to be bushcraft approved. This new series of full tang fixed blade knives I believe you are referring to are not designed to be only for bushcraft tasks. These fixed blades were designed from suggestions sent to us by close to fifty different survivalist/bushcraft enthusiast. We basically took feedback from our previous popular full tang fixed blades to make them more friendly for bushcraft use while keeping the survival and tactical aspects expected by our fans and customers. Five inch and seven inch blades were requested by all we received feedback from. All wanted a quarter inch thick knife with a ninety degree spine for batoning and Ferro rod striking surface. To my knowledge we have not been advertising these solely as bushcraft knives only. If we have done so anywhere, this was by mistake.
