This is Sissy. She was living at our house when we purchased it in 2004. The house had been vacant for a while but the owner fed her after she wandered up to have her puppies. She had a warm bed in barn and he came out several days a week to feed her. Homes were found for her puppies when time and later he sedated her to trap her so she could be spayed. I guess she had lived her at least a year before we bought the house. It took us about two years before she would let us touch her. She became friends with our dog Sport and they became inseparable. She saw that he trusted us so she decided to come in the house to sleep with him. She has never growled, snapped, jumped up on us, never had an accident in the house, never barked in side. etc. So appreciative of a belly rub. She even decided she liked our bed better than hers and loved to nap on it. She continued to be shy and hide with guests came. Every fall the last few years, she has been treated for bronchitis. Chest xray at least yearly for that and blood work. This time the cough did not clear completely and recently she quit taking the two mile walks with David but still took shorter ones. This week she quit walks and wanted to rest more. And presented with a hacky cough in am. Today the x-ray revealed masses in her lungs and one near her trachea. Blood work still perfect. She has maybe two weeks left . She has enjoyed rides with David today and going out for a hamburger. Such a blessing to know this sweet girl
