This is Stella. She has been at the Hurricane shelter since the beginning of FEBRUARY!!! It is her turn to have a chance at a family! She does not show well in her kennel. It seems that since she has been at the shelter for so long she has learned some barrier aggressive behavior. But once she is out, she is so good. Very sweet. She was good with my kids and listened well. She knows how to sit. She is obsessed with playing ball! When there is a ball out, that is the only thing she is interested in. She will bring it back to you and sit and wait for you to throw it again. She was not interested in treats. Only the ball. She did not do very good on her dog test today. She was walked over to a very calm dog who was sitting quietly and Stella snapped at her. It seems that she doesnt want other dogs in her space. But the shelter volunteer says there is another dog in the shelter that Stella LOVES and plays well with. So I would say that she is dog selective. 7 1/2 months is such a long time for a dog to be at a shelter. She will need a strong leader and someone who is experienced with dog behavior. She needs to learn socialization and be enrolled in flyball and she will be such a great companion.
