This is Victoria, a very sweet girl who has Cushings disease. Cushings disease refers to an increase of the hormone cortisone because of a benign pituitary gland tumor. It can be controlled by medication but will always be with her. You can see the symptoms of the disease in her pot-belly, obesity, loss of hair, muscle weakness, and scaly patches on the skin and elbows. Miss Victoria is still all Golden and has the loving Golden spirit. She loves to be pet and is a true Golden as she never lets you leave a room alone. She is loving, good natured, and loves to swim which is great because we can use water therapy to help strengthen her legs which have some muscle loss due to the disease.
