This is Zeus the Zebra shark! He is now on display in our Shark and Ray exhibit at the aquarium! Here are some fun facts about Zebra Sharks (Stegostoma fasciatum): The Zebra Shark is native to the Indian and Pacific Oceans, where they are benthic dominant predators. These sharks can grow up to 3 meters in length and have a long, flattened bodies. This adaptation aids the zebra shark in hiding unnoticed in the seabed. Zebra sharks move their long, slender tails side to side much like an eel- this type of swimming is called anguilliform!
