This is a French made Seimertone-Buesher resonator. Made sometime in the 1950s. Ive had this in for a few tweaks recently. In 1986 I made the replacement neck for it after buying it from Mark Makin. I think it came from Mike Lewis in Paris originally and before that from remaindered stock in a shop somewhere in France. The story was that there were no cones to fit these instruments. They were a larger size than the conventional 9 1/2.A conventional size cone would fall through the well hole.Under the gasket is a brass ring bolted to the orignal lip to extend it to hold the NatRes cone that I fitted at that time .As you can see the body is based on a National but not a copy. The body is beautifully made having been made by brass instrument makers as the company were but sadly the original necks werent up to the same standard hence the replacement. The tailpiece is the same as was fitted to Maccaferri and Selmer guitars . The original tuners, now replaced were also the same as Maccaferris and Selmers. Nice to see it again after 25 years.
