This is a NEW song NMB has been performing, its called Shade Tree. This is is why I couldnt be more proud of the guys working along side of me! I wrote this song after all the turmoil that was happening down in Ferguson, MO. I had read an article about how historically speaking, nothing like what happened down there has really ever taken place in or around St. Louis. Every major city in America has had some type of of riot or looting because of racial tensions, but somehow St. Louis really has never had this type of upheaval until now. The article used a quote from the comedian-activist Dick Gregory, who was asked several years before, why he thought the racial tensions which had gripped most other places had never taken place in St. Louis, he said...We got shade trees. I really thought about that quote, and couldnt get it out of my mind. The article ended with the reporter saying, this time the shade trees didnt help. With tensions still high in the Ferguson/St. Louis area and around the country because of the grand jury findings, I hope people will give this song a listen. I believe that there is a basic good in all of us, and that we need to take a look around where we are and decide how to be good to each other and take care of the place we all call our home! ...There is room for all. This song is coming from our hearts, and the guys all made it more than I could have imagined! Michael Ledbetter, is the only one that could sing this song the way it was meant to be sung! We are a band that travels a lot of roads, stylistically and literally, and a select few have said that we seem to have an identity problem....I think we know exactly who we are, I am proud of who we are!
