This is a big deal for Playa Vista, which is already growing EXTREMELY rapidly. The Runway at Playa Vista (an 11-acre mixed use project), is opening its doors on its first facilities in the next month or two, and is literally across the street from this site (and one block away from my desk at Belkin). Google already has a facility in Venice (in the Binoculars building, designed by Frank Gehry--who, incidentally, has his offices here in Playa Vista), but this site is HUGE. I dont know where theyre going to find that many talented engineers, but this means only good things for the Tech industry in Los Angeles. Silicon Beach, indeed. (HT: Sondra Dorsey Hudson)
