This is a bit of a stretch, as I have been looking for 3 years - TopicsExpress

This is a bit of a stretch, as I have been looking for 3 years now, but I figure I will post it here to see if I can find any new leads. To make a long story short, my dad took up motorcycle riding in his mid-30s, and he absolutely loved long distance riding. On his 1997 R1100RTL (Amarena Red), he did the Iron Butt 50CC with my uncle from Florida to California in 42 hours, and he kept a journal of that ride that I love reading through. Around 2003 my dad was in a bad car accident, and he ended up having to sell his RT in 2007 because of back trouble from that accident. Shortly thereafter, in 2008, he passed away from pancreatic cancer. The VIN number on the RT was WB10418A0VZC62899, but this has not helped much because it is not legal for anyone who can link the VIN to the current owner to reveal this information. I know it was sold to a Marine in Carlsbad, California (transferred from Mortons BMW in Virginia), and I can see that the registration was transferred in February of 2007 on a CarFax, but beyond that the trail runs cold. If you happen to see a 97 Amarena Red R1100RTL for sale out there, please take a peek at the VIN for me. I dont know if the current owner would be willing to part with it, but it would be wonderful to know where my dads 4th child Ruby ended up. Thanks, everyone. P.S. My dad was an active poster on the BMWSportTouring forums (as Bob Chaplain John), but I have not found any luck through those forums either. Im just exhausting all options.
