This is a book (sorry), but just have to share. What an amazing week this has been. It was filled with two beautiful home-going celebrations. While there’s definitely sorrow and sadness in the midst of saying good-bye, it’s something about weddings and funerals that is a true witness of God’s glory. Many of you know that my husband is from the inner city, with friends and family from all aspects of life, cultures, and countries. Both of the men that passed (one a family member, one a very good friend), both were, as the Minister stated ‘Pillars of their community’. While their communities and life styles may have been very different, their love of family, their character, integrity and strength were one and the same. The testimonies that were shared were touching and humorous, and both men had the home-going of a King. It goes to show that God’s love has no barriers and he truly is ‘no respector of persons’. When it all comes down to it, we’re one and the same. We leave here with what we came here with, and despite it all, His Mercy and Grace is everlasting. Lives were changed during each service, and it was beautiful witnessing and being a part of the miracles as they happened. While watching a single tear fall from my husband’s eye; my heart was uplifted by being in the midst of all the love. Our heart and prayers will always be extended to the immediate families for their comfort and peace, and they know we are a heartbeat away. I thank them for allowing us to be a part of their life and for being a part of the service. Just feeling juiced and wanted to share :-). Calling it a night - hope everyone has a great evening and an even better tomorrow! L
