This is a classic example of saying things in opposition and finding out in government it isnt quite the priority you have told people . I am not defending the Prime Minister because he has made decisions ; tax cuts of the upper salary earners , novapay , charter schools and other areas which has shown a wastage of government spending . What I would like to see is poverty and in -equality to have cross party support from both the major parties . The reality is we have reached this point because poverty has become a football passed between the traditional left and right divides . Poverty has been growing in New Zealand steadily for the last 30 years , that is a fact . Countries that have moved forward from put in a line in the sand , made a commitment for change regardless of the government in charge . As I said I am not a national party supporter however my voting preference has not been for Labour either . However I do know what it takes to fight for the rights of a child , that is what has been missing from our leaders for a long period of time .
