This is a clear case of how bad Nigeria has so deteriorated. When we say that unemployment level is at its highest, supporters of government will tell you something else. It is very sad that a Government agency like the immigration can not organize interviews without such calamitous causalities being recorded. Management is poor from top to the bottom you will say and this also rick of fraud. Common sense would have told any body that when you have so much crowd you stagger the interview if all other streamlining criteria have been fully applied. The saddest part of it is that the management is catching in on the desperation of these innocent Nigerians to make money. I wonder how many vacancies they want to fill that has resulted in loss of lifes ? Unfortunately, so many deaths and injuries have been recorded while the management of Immigration Services smiles to the bank with more than 200 Million Naira. This is apart from the fact that every applicant was made to purchase a T shirt and all the related accessories . You now ask your self, how can a Government that is supposed to serve the people collect money from the unemployed in other to give him job?. If the Government can not give unemployment grand, is it too much to conduct interviews without collecting money from people who are already at the bottom financially? How you rate a good and sensitive Government is the conduct of its organs of Government such as the Immigration services. At the end of the day more than 80% of the people they will finally employ might not even have attended the interview and would just need to bring letter from Government officials or Politician and they have the job. I dear say that its all effort in futility as the quota system and all other “Nigerian factors” will throw merit to the background This is unacceptable and all the money collected should be divided amount the families that lost their lifes and got injuries to deter other Government agencies from milking the innocent unemployed all in the guise of conducting interviews. Government must stand up to its responsibilities and its high time, families are not just left to moan there deaths without any compensations from Government for deaths like this that ordinarily could have been prevented. At the end of the day no body will be penalized for this preventable deaths and yet the Government will say its performing and is people oriented ?
