This is a copy of the letter I sent to the Ardmore, Oklahoma Chief - TopicsExpress

This is a copy of the letter I sent to the Ardmore, Oklahoma Chief of Police concerning the cruel, unnecessary shooting of a dog. As you read, please take note of his remark as reported by a neighbor who overheard it. .....................................................................................................................................................................................................................Chief Grace; Please note: I do not use the customary salutation “Dear Chief Grace.” Please, though, do not take offense. It is not that I believe you are undeserving of such a formal greeting, it is just my habit to never use the term “Dear” in any written greeting except to personal acquaintances. Also, this is not an indication of any preformed personal opinion of you. I am aware that you are not personally responsible for any misconduct of officers that you supervise. I am also aware that you are not in charge of hiring and firing of those officers. There is one officer, Brice Woolly, whom, I believe, is a threat to citizens of Ardmore. I believe he fits the description of psychopath. After seeing the cruelty he exhibited when he shot a docile, non threatening dog in such a cold blooded manner, I think it just may be possible that he puts on that uniform, straps on the gun belt, holsters the piece, trembling with excited anticipation and hoping that on that particular shift he will get an opportunity to kill somebody. Then, perhaps he would say, “Did you see how his dentures flew out of his mouth when I shot him in the head?” “It was awesome!” That man is dangerous. He is lower than the feces of the dog he shot. If he has children, how can he look them in the eye and not have feelings of guilt? Did he, or, did he not, use the excuse that he took preemptive action to protect children who were present? Why did he not place himself between the children and the dog? From what I saw on the dash cam video, it appeared that he kicked, or shoved the dog with his foot. It seems to me an obvious move to get the dog to react aggressively as an excuse to kill it. The dog made no move at all except to step back a bit. There are too many brutal, sadistic people on police forces all over the world. Bullies and criminals are attracted to seek law enforcement positions. They know they can abuse people with an immunity they would not have otherwise. I am hoping that the officer will be prosecuted and imprisoned for his cruel act. The city officials should take immediate action to see that he is removed from law enforcement. Sincerely; Donnie L. Shahan a citizen U. S. Air Force Ret. P S: If you would pin this to your bulletin board I would be pleased.
