This is a discussion between a dervish and a banker In their words you may find wisdom or mere banter Hark the banker says Who are you to scoff at belongings and things You know nothing of the world and how to control the purse strings Who are you to say the world is but dust If you ruled the world even the skies would rust I am the hero of the day A man of the world I move bread and olives From Cairo to Istanbul Bay I make the world turn I make trade Who are you to scoff at the glorious cities i made you but own a cloak and mere beads of jade who are you to scoff at the cities i made The reply of the dervish Oh banker be not so proud your achievements do not cry out so loud On your principles the interest is yet not paid On your interest the principle is delayed I have a long position on my master till the grave With my beads I short sell and repo my soul on the exchange My Master is my Index My surrender my trade If the markets go down my trust is not betrayed I own a cloak, my beads of jade And a bowl for soup I grow my wheat and barley And milk the cow under the shade You are but a mere secondary cause And I dont deal in junk bonds He is the Real Trader In this zero sum game My friend be not so proud Of the cities you have made The sovereign debt is outstanding You run the risk of a downgrade And payments must be made You leverage your existence for dust in the wind You discounted your being for a beamer and a fling On earth you are bullish, bearish on heaven Your life is like betting on number seven I have intrinsic value linked to my faith I am not traded like a cheap exchange rate Ill exercise MY options And youll let the markets play..
