As I later came to understand, telepathy usually occurs between people who are closely bonded, such as parents and children, spouses, and close friends. [iii] Peters’ investigation was unusual in that he studied as case where the bonds between the “sender” and “receiver” were unusually strong. By contrast, most experiments by psychic researchers and parapsychologists have used pairs of strangers, between whom the effects were much smaller.
