This is a first: A Chili Cook-Off to support students who WANT to sleep with SHARKS? Believe it or not…its true. The NCS Nerd Herd has organized a Chili Cook-Off to fund their March field trip to Gatlinburg to sleep with the Sharks at Ripley’s Aquarium. How cool is that? What exactly is a Nerd Herd? The Nerd Herd is a Science Club that was organized by HS students for HS students that want to explore strange new worlds, to seek out new life and new cultures, to boldly go where no student has gone before—within the confines of science. Plus they mentor/train younger students in the nuances of science, for example: Glow Sticks, Volcanos, Fossils, AND let us not forget SLIME. HOW can you not support this serious group of industrious and studious students? Here are the details: > The Chili Cook-Off is 4PM this Thursday, Jan.30, in the HS Commons Area. > Judge tasting begins at 5pm. > The Nerd Herd will provide chili fixings, bowls, napkins, spoons, cups, the works. > There will be 3 categories; a winner will be selected in each one. - a NCS Staff category, - a NCS Parents category - a NCS Student/Alumni category > Each contest entry should be in a crock pot and brought to the HS Commons Area between 3 and 4pm. Entries that are not to be judged should be in by 6PM. > There is no entry fee for the contest. > The Nerd Herd is accepting donations. > Winners will be announced at the HS basketball game that night. > Questions?
