This is a golden opportunity for BJP, it must build and nurture institutions, BJP needs institution equivalent to JNU and TISS to put across center-right perspective unequivocally says Sairam Jagannathan. Very true. Why to stop with one? The next govt should create five major premier academic institutions East West North South and Center, each one of them poised for excellence, staffed and guided by eminent scholars and original thinkers, surpassing JNU-like old schools of the past. They should be totally focused on humanities and multidisciplinary studies (history, sociology, political science, diplomacy, geopolitics, culture studies, developmental studies, Indian languages, Indian literature & arts etc.) Its courses, academic output and research should be rooted in nationalist ideology and anchored in the values upheld by Indic civilization and Dharma, also collaborating with a few well intentioned and India friendly scholars and viewpoints from the Western academic institutions instead of adopting a blind anti-West stand. This should be included in the vision and mission of HRD Ministry.
