This is a great example of cognitive dissonance. The detective is horrified that someone would kill 920 chickens with a golf club. Yet Im guessing he is not alarmed by a food system of exploitation that kills nine billion chickens a year! 9,000,000,000! Detectives are looking into a motive, but “whoever did something like this is pretty sick,” Curtice said. “It would take a long time to do it…. People should be alarmed at something like that.”
