This is a great resource for beginning shepherds (and a good refresher for experienced shepherds as well). We used to reference this with the 4H sheep projects for good, concise explanations of parasite control. Pasture rotation is critical to keeping parasite loads low and reduce reliance on chemical dewormers. Susan Schoenian is a Sheep & Goat Specialist at the University of Marylands Western Maryland Research & Education Center in Keedysville, Maryland. She has been with University of Maryland Extension since 1988. Susan began her extension career as a agricultural extension agent in Wicomico County. She also served as a Farm Management Specialist for Marylands nine Eastern Shore counties.
