This is a great way to start off the weekend. Our sweet puppy - TopicsExpress

This is a great way to start off the weekend. Our sweet puppy Apple took no time to be adopted by the most incredibly kind, loving family. Last week we had posted a picture of Apple to let everyone know she would be arriving in New York and looking for a forever home. We were contacted by Apple/now Joys mom Kristen. She knew it would be a long shot because she thought Apple might have been adopted. Kristen told us about how her and her mom recently lost their precious sato, Lola. Kristen was very emotional and we knew what a cherished member of the family Lola was. To honor Lolas memory they decided they wanted to adopt Apple. When we spoke with the vets office they told us that Kristen and her mom were the kindest people. Their personal references said that they love all animals and their dogs are treated like their children. When our foster mom Nicole met them everyone was crying happy tears. This was a match made in heaven. Here is an update from Apple/now Joys mom: OH MY GOODNESS! We are in LOVE! She is just a wonderful, spunky little girl and she is truly bringing us joy! Joy is also VERY smart; we are walking on leashes well and she is recognizing her name. I signed her up for Puppy Kindergarten classes that will start in mid-January, and Saturday we go meet my vet and get a baseline of wellness established. She sleeps through the night in a crate next to my bed (whined maybe 3 times the first night and now doesnt whine at all) and doesnt have any accidents in there, and is like me, not a morning person. :) She loooooves her crate so its hard to get her out when its time to go potty but she is becoming more and more comfortable; I had to run a quick errand last night and when I came back she was sleeping on my slippers across the room from her crate. She is definitely *my* puppy--if my mom is holding her, she never takes her eyes off of me, follows me around for free time like a shadow. For a puppy that has had a traumatic start to life, I think she is doing exceptionally well with everything, from housebreaking to playing and socializing to just being a silly puppy. I have SOOOOO many photos, Ive attached some from Facebook for you! All of my friends beg me for more photos of her, she is just the most adorable little pup ever. My dog walker just loves her, too. She is definitely healing both my mom and I after losing Lola, and I am so, so thankful and happy that it was ME you chose to let adopt her! Thank you so much again, we are head over heels! Kristin
