This is a half-way decent article on Scale Symmetry, though it is a bit misleading when it says Maybe mass isnt really there. A clearer way of looking at this theory is that mass is entirely and solely the sum of the forces interacting between the massless particles (such as photons, for one example). The theory states that it is this process that gives rise to mass. Oh, and measurements of size/scale dont mean what we think they do. Very interesting stuff. One other caveat. This isnt a new theory. I read a paper yesterday on scale symmetry from 1976. It is only new in that more physicists are revisiting it since it does explain some of the odd findings that have come out of the Large Hadron Collider in the past couple of years, and the current pet theories of Supersymmetry and String Theory and Multiverses are failing to pan out. wired/2014/08/multiverse/
