This is a heartbreaking day for us all. Yukon crossed the Rainbow Bridge this afternoon at 2:42. Ty and Dionne were with him and he passed over gently. It was his time and he was ready. He had fought the good fight and given it everything he had, but he just didnt have enough. We will have him cremated and placed with our other departed fur babies, which is as it should be. To me, all that matters is that Yukon was very, very loved in the last few weeks of his life - maybe more loved than he had ever been before. Beginning with the wonderful lady who found him, to the wonderful vets who tried so hard to save him, to the wonderful folks who took such good care of him, to the wonderful people all around the world who sent their donations and best wishes to him every single day: Thank you so much for everything. We will take down the fundraiser now, but I may keep this page going in Yukons memory and dedicate it to lost or abused animals needing a new home. I dont know for sure yet. We need a little time. To those of you who have mailed donations, I will return them to you if you want me to or I will donate the money to another rescue. Please private message me and let me know what you want to do. To those of you who have given e-gift cards or regular gift cards, I will donate those to another rescue as well unless you want me to return them. Just let me know. My heart is breaking right now and I cant write anymore. We really believed we could save him, love him back to health, and for the most part we refused to even consider that it might not be possible. Giving up is just not part of our DNA, but to put beautiful Yukon through any more would have been the epitome of cruelty. We all loved him too much for that. Rest in peace, little man. You were loved. 8/14/2014 Dionne Thompson, Rene Bourne, and Tyrella Frank
