This is a little explanation on our adoption policies and procedures. We are not a first come first served based rescue. Please understand that each and every animal in our care has specific requirements that need to be met to ensure proper lifetime placement of the animal. We focus on finding good matches between animals and families, to ensure lifelong adoptions. What one animal requires, another may not. We have some dogs that need to be only animals in the house, we have some that are absolutely no cats, others that require fences, others that have medical needs that need lifelong care, and a vast assortment of other needs. When an application/s are submitted for an animal, we go through those and try and find that perfect fit. One that will work for the needs of the animal, and your needs at the same time. That does not constitute the first application that comes in. We try very hard not to set up our animals for failure, and yet at the same time leaving you heart broken because an animal you wanted did not work out. With most of the animals we take in, we were their last chance. So we owe it to them to select the best possible home that we can find. Please do not get discouraged if an animal you wanted was not a good fit for your home and lifestyle. We always have different animals coming in. So just because we have nothing that will fit in your home at the time, does not mean that we will not in the short future. When submitting an application or inquiry on an animal, please understand that we are a 100 percent all volunteer run rescue. None of us get paid to do this. We all have families, jobs, etc that we have to tend to along with rescue. We do try hard to get back to everyone in a timely manner, but sometimes things do get very busy.
