This is a long one... For the second time this month, Ive been a victim of credit card fraud. The first time was one of my American Express cards and this time its my Citibank debit card, which I basically use for just about anything that requires being paid for. Initially, I was angry and have spent most of today incredibly annoyed at the lengths Ive had to go to to make sure I can pay my workers tomorrow and get stuff financially taken care of since I have been completely blocked from online access to all of my accounts at Citibank. Then I saw it from a different perspective. I have no cash on me, no food in my house and I have to figure out dinner. A girlfriend of mine’s words to me were that if she had money, so did I. Wow, I am blessed to have friends like that. Then I realized that my daily car is beyond empty and I can’t fill the tank. But guess what, I have my Jeep with half a tank of gas or even my chopper to pick from. Wow, I am blessed to have more than one way to get around. Then I thought about what kind of desperation drives a person to duplicate people’s credit cards and was told by the bank that all the charges were for food/groceries. SUPER WOW, I am blessed to not have to steal to feed myself or my family. I guess a crappy situation can really make you realize your blessings sometimes. I am still incredibly annoyed, but blessed nonetheless.
