This is a long post, but please share and participate. Unfortunately just read that Madeleine was placed in hospice and we are heartbroken. Madison Social is proud to be a drop off point for MAD LOVE, a local charity drive in honor of a 6-year old student at Gilchrist Elementary School named Madeleine. Madeleine has an incurable form of cancer that began with brain tumor at age 4 months. With her life being spent mostly in hospitals, the cancer wing playrooms were her playgrounds growing up. Her favorite place was UMN Children’s Hospital in Albuquerque for their AMAZING children’s wing. Madeleine is now undergoing treatment at Wolfson Children’s hospital in Jacksonville and her wish is that the children being treated with her would have the same wonderful playrooms and toys as her friends at UMN. We are collecting the following items to donate to the playrooms at Wolfson Children’s Hospital. All items must be new and can include: · Art supplies: sketchbooks, canvas, paper, paints, markers, colored pencils, crayons, glitter, glue, etc. · Coloring books · Lego sets: Lego Friends · Hot Wheels · Puzzles (50-100 piece) · Individual arts and craft kits · Playing cards: UNO, Phase 10, Skip-Bo, etc. · Books Board Games: Monopoly, Sorry, Trouble, etc. · DVDs rated G or PG · Gift Cards: iTunes, Amazon, Target/Walmart, Michaels, etc. Please drop what you can and let’s make this child’s dream come true.
