This is a long status, but I hope some of you take the time to read it and hopefully view things in a different perspective. I believe God gives us hardship for a reason. This topic holds so much significance; the very essence of difficulty is something that still, till this day, lingers in my mind. Sometimes we find ourselves struggling, trying to overcome the obstacles that face us everyday, but the one upstairs reminds us that within every affliction, there is sudden relief along with it. We see this in Surat As-Sharh [94:5-6],“So verily, with hardship, there is relief. Verily, with hardship, there is relief.” The term “with” can literally mean right after it or even in the midst of the end, so be patient. Sometimes, as rough as enduring hardship is, I hope it never leaves me. I know that because you and I face a struggle, we are being guided in our life. We are learning something, not nothing. Besides, aren’t we travelers in this world anyways? We are to make good use of the tools that the world offers us especially since the term “travelers” shows the temporariness of life, of circumstances, of anything… Even part of Ayah 46 in Surat Al-Haj says, “Do they not travel through the land, so that their hearts (and mind) may thus learn wisdom and their ears may thus learn?” Is this not proof that even through tough predicaments, we are sought out to attain wisdom by expanding our capacity to become more knowledgeable, and to grow from these situations? I can’t tell someone to be happy when they are constantly subjected to instances that don’t fit the category of ease, but I can empathize with them. Be positive and realistic at the same time. Convince and prove to yourself that everything that has been decreed upon you was for the sake of molding you into a better human being. It took me a year to finally realize this, to grasp this notion of battling between positivism and negativism. Don’t dwell, keep moving forward, and push those barriers aside. Your burdens are never anything that you can’t handle. It is your choice to either focus on the light at the end of the tunnel or to turn away from it. Surely, there are always blessings that are disguised. Now, let this Ayah reside in your mind. “And unto everyone who is conscious of God, He [always] grants a way out [of unhappiness].” [65:2] So, be positive in every way that you can be… :)
