This is a long video, but here is the way I see it, if you dont take the time to watch this video, then you might not have the time and patience that it takes to train your own bird. It does only take minutes a day. What you see here is in real time with the exception of the beginning of the video that shows you the setup for this phase of the training with Kenny. I think that it is very important that you see exactly what steps are taken, in real time, to get a bird to target. Patience is key. Dont give up, and dont give in. In other words, dont move the target stick toward the bird. Make the bird come to the target stick. It might take some time to have him do it, but it is worth it. The bird needs to feel confident, comfortable and secure in the decision to touch that target. That takes time. Let your bird work through the process by thinking about it. Dont rush it. Kenny is doing great, and I hope that he is giving many of you inspiration to help your birds learn. I have heard from many of you by PMs that you are following along with Kennys training with your birds. How awesome is that! Kenny is instructing all of you how to become a patient trainer. Watch his body language. Take the time to watch him and get comfortable with your training skills so that when you train your own bird you will have direction and know what you want to accomplish in that training session. Dont move too fast, or too slow. Always remember to end on a positive skill that your bird knows. Dont be afraid to make a mistake. It will happen, and you can just pick back up and start over. If Kenny, an untame bird, can come this far, you can do this with your bird. Most of all... have fun. The rewards are monumental and will build a great relationship between you and your bird. :)
