This is a neat video to watch. A little background about me and my tour of it. I am a Lifetime Member of the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green KY. In 2011 the museum in conjunction with Rick Hendrick and Hendrick Motorsports offered a tour of Ricks Heritage Center. I was fortunate enough to be able to be a part of that group. We were told that only a very select few people have ever been in Ricks museum or Heritage Center as he calls it. We all felt very privileged to be there and to go inside. There were only 150 or 160 of Ricks huge collection of cars on display in this building. But each and every one of them was beautiful and with the addition of a battery and gas could be driven and was driven. Our guide had worked for Hendrick Motorsports for over 20 years. He started out as a semi driver that hauled the Hendrick NASCAR race cars to races all over the country. He later became Ricks personal truck driver that would go to all of the huge car auctions (like Barrett Thompson) and bring back cars that Rick would buy. He was also the caretaker of each and every vehicle in the center and told us he was the only person other than Rick that would drive them. Although the majority of the cars were Corvettes there were many other high performance or specialty cars there. He has more cars than can be displayed at any one time. In the rows of cars parked in the drive-in were two brand new Corvettes with less than 10 miles on them. These two cars came right from the Corvette assembly plant, brand new to Ricks Heritage Center. One of the guys in the group I was in asked why such new Vettes. The answer was simple....... Rick brought the cars, that were to be stored until his grand kids born on the day each Corvette was built were old enough to drive them. Right then and there I asked if Rick would adopt me. While at the Hendricks Motorsports complex where the Heritage Center was located we also got to go into Rick museum where he stored many vintage NASCAR race cars driven by Jimmy Johnson, Jeff Gordon and other driver greats that raced for Hendricks Motorsports. We also got to go through the race shops that Jimmy Johnson and Dale Earnhardt Jr shared. And the shops that Jeff Gordon and Kasey Kahne shared. It was one ultra fantastic tour. Oh yeah another fun part of that trip and tour was that we got to drive our Corvettes on Charlotte Motor Speedway. All in all in was one freakin fun exciting time
