This is a no no and she knows it. She isnt making eye contact (so she cant get in trouble lol) with me she is focused on John - she IS HIS dog. Ive been thinking back to when she got dumped 3.5 years ago. Didnt trust me at all, wouldnt take my food, didnt trust my water (but the first drink she had in days so she took it), wouldnt let me rub her belly, terrified to get in the car, would sit and cry at the end of the driveway when we went for walks, would stay outside in freezing weather if I was the one to open the door to let her in (still does this some). The most recent improvement is when I have something in my hands (sack, trash bag, shovel, yard stick) she still cowers & starts to bolt but instead of going outside & hiding she is starting to trust me... so I pet her with whatever it is lol. The really sad part to this whole thing is she was less than a year old when she got dumped in the neighborhood. 3.5 years for her to trust the one who takes care of her, feeds her, loves on her. John on the other hand... She decided he was hers before he got out of the truck haha. Love this weirdo even if she barely trusts me!
