This is a perfect example of why Theology Matters. Here we have Anglican Episcopal Bishop Tony Palmer addressing Kenneth Copelands church, & all his viewers worldwide. What is his message? Unity! According to him, protestants & roman Catholics have been fighting for far to long, & its time for a spiritual renewal. He says Brothers & sisters, Luthers protest is over. Is yours? Obviously Kenneths members are ignorant when it comes to doctrine, so they all start chanting & cheering. He goes on to say this Its the glory that glues us together, not the DOCTRINE, thats a perfect example of a false dichotomy fallacy. You cant have the Glory of God while at the same time denying the fundamental doctrines Teachings of the bible. If we push doctrine aside, then by what standard do we say the Mormons are in error? what about the Jehovah Witnesses? What gives us the right to call Christian Science erroneous? After all, we shouldt split hairs over doctrine. We should be loving, & accepting, even of false sects like the ones I just mentioned. Why were Paul & John so mean spirited when they warned the Church against the error of the Gnostics & Judaizers? Oh, thats right! Because Doctrine Matters. Because what the Gnostics & Judaizeers were teaching was objectively false, because they preached a false gospel. Some of my Hyper Charismatic, over SPIRITUAL friends might jump on this post & say You see, we are in the last days Jesus is coming back soon Blah Blah Blah. Can I shoot straight with you for a minute? Ok, Ill pretend you gave me permission. You my friend have no right to say anything regarding this. Why? Because you also disregard Doctrine & Theology; to you its all about Spiritualism, thus you yourself fail to properly teach & equip your flock in doctrinal matters. To you its all about being spiritual, & thats about it. This post isnt aimed at starting a cessation continuation debate, but rather to remind people of the importance of doctrine. If youre a continuationist, but yet at the same time still learn & teach the importance of doctrine, then what I just said doesnt apply to you, it applies to the HYPER charismatic friends I have. Friends, the Reformation isnt over, its just getting started! We have a ton of Reforming/Reconstruction ahead of us, I suggest we train ourselves for the work at hand. Semper Reformanda! On more thing, I do recognize that three speakers in this video are false teachers, however, there are (some) sheep in that auditorium, & across the world giving ear to what these false teachers are saying.
