This is a photo of Sprang memorabilia on John Byrnes studio wall. The splash on the far right is a black and white recreation of the title page from Batman #91, The Map of Mystery! which he commissioned Dick to recreate in 1994. The Batman comic book displayed on the far left...Batman #91, with a cover by Curt Swan...was originally from Dicks personal comic book archives. When John was only 5 years old in 1955, Batman #91, The Map of Mystery! was the first Batman story that he had ever read...which was also his first exposure to Dick Sprang...even though he was not aware of who he was at the time. For years, John used to think that Bob Kane...whose name was always printed on the title page...was the only Batman artist at DC...and that Kane had various art styles for all his stories. However, John always liked one particular art style...and those were the stories drawn by Dick Sprang. Also, the Sprang color specialty piece displayed in the middle was commissioned by Johns former wife, Andy, in 1990 for Johns 40th birthday. The Joker image was recreated from a panel originally published in Batman #73, The Jokers Utility Belt!. The color piece of Bat-Mite...at the far bottom left...was by Shelly Moldoff.
