This is a photo taken after the Greater Cleveland Triathlon in 2009. It was my last solo tri. If you look at the photo you will see a mic stand in one hand and a bike hanging from my shoulder. That morning I raced the sprint distance, crossed the finish line and sang for everyone else in the finish area. At the time I had been planning on spending more time on music and less on sports. This race was the transitional point, though my music would take priority as my spinal cord injury would limit my ability to remain in the sport. Tomorrow morning I return to triathlon with a handcycle, crutches and a wheelchair. I expect my swim>bike transition to be very slow due to my need to get across a large beach on crutches. Joining me today at the expo and making his multi-sport debut tomorrow will be Red Chrosniak, a fellow Folknet board member. He will be riding the bike hanging from my shoulder. Tomorrow we will leave the mic stands at home and focus on the bikes...... We will do our singing the following Sunday at the Avon Lake Folk Festival.
