This is a picture of me at Lans Aux Meadows, all the way at the very northern tip of Newfoundland, Canada. Its the first known settlement by Europeans on the North American continent, about 1,000 A.D. It was an amazing trip that changed my life, and opened my mind through being so far north, and camping, hiking, exploring the land and people that make this place special. Im running this trip again in 2015 and I am setting up the dates for it. My question is this: Would you rather go North in early Summer and see Icebergs and possibly be a lot of mosquitos and black flies, like, crazy amounts, that can limit hiking and sight seeing, or go in mid August, when the bugs will be less, the hiking great, but possibly not see ice? The plus side of going at the end of August is that the Cloudberries will be ripe! (That is a big plus.) The icebergs were very magical. However, there might be some if there is a big breakup of ice, but its not guaranteed. It would be great to get different perspectives though, and hear what some of you all would be into! The trip would be for two weeks and go up along the western coast of this amazing place...
