This is a poem I wrote a while ago, and very few people have seen it. So I decided to put it on Facebook to see what other people think. Enjoy and give me some honest feedback! The root of all war is hate And the root of all hate is war. Day after day people die for a cause— But what could be worth dying for? They fight for freedom And they fight for land Peace and money and power and That’s worth killing a fellow man. But underneath hate is prejudice The brutal, unforgiving bias towards another Based on his skin, or gender, or religion, Who he loves, what country he’s from, or something other. There can be no peace, nor end to the war, Until prejudice, hate in tow, has gone away. But how can that happen? No way, until We the People stop letting them stay. Prejudice is borne of ignorance Which can be cured through education. Teach people to accept one another And we can become an undivided nation. An undivided people. An undivided world.
