This is a poem I wrote after the horror of 9-11 Shattered Dreams >Sept.11,2001 They never saw it coming Things will never be the same Their lives are changed forever They are filled with fear and pain There was no place to run to There was no place to hide For the people in the towers They just had to get outside Smoke and dust all over was all that they had seen this could not be happening It all must be a dream As I sat and watched the horror I wanted to know why all these people had to suffer and so many had to die Why would someone do this How did they get the means To change their lives forever and to shatter all their dreams what do we tell the children when they ask us why The towers were destroyed by airplanes from the sky. We have to tell them to be brave and keep them safe from pain and try to reassure them it will not occur again that we have to trust our President that he will do whats right To try to keep us safe from harm so we can sleep at night so we dont have to worry that we wont be safe it seems and we can wake tomorrow and try to live our dreams
