This is a poem which is featured in both A Veritable Meley of Poetic Meanderings and Drift. This one is about the malignant narcissist/sociopath spousal predators horror once the abusers facade is torn off (frequently only after a heinous acts of narcisistic or sociopathic abuse against the victim). The victim oftentimes asks What have you given for all of this (for the treasure which was me/not to be arrogant but pretty much anyone is better than the abuser)? The answer is these predators truly give nothing while they gold-dig and strip-mine everything out of their victim. How many victims can relate to this? Likely many indeed.
