This is a post from Megan Munson.. A High School Senior, and President of our GOLD Gods Girls High School Groups @ FFHS in the Outer Banks, NC. I praise Jesus for girls like Megan who love Jesus and want to share His love with peers, community and really anyone who will listen. Hi yall! My name is Megan Munson, and I am (as always) proud to say that I am President of First Flight High Schools chapter of Gold. I was watching a rerun of a Super Bowl commercial on YouTube (How bout them Seahawks?!) when this trailer popped up, the first video recommended for me. This is for the movie Son of God, which depicts Jesuss life. By the end, I was floored, and I knew I had to share the following with you: The first couple of minutes built slowly, and I wasnt immediately swept away. Then cut to the still at the 2:00 mark. If youre watching this trailer with me, I ask you to pause at this point. Look at that face. In this one still, I see all the pain Jesus experienced: persecution, betrayal, ultimate suffering. Diogo Morgado, the actor portraying Jesus, did an excellent job, because in this second, I immediately feel overwhelming emotions that are hard to put into words. Once again, cut back to the face. Jesus did that for me. He was severely beaten, mocked, and left on a cross to die. He didnt deserve that. And yet he did that for me. And not just for me, but for all mankind. That means you, too. And he did so out of an utterly perfect love. I was saved at 13, at a point in my life when I felt so alone. In came Jesus, who told me immediately upon my acceptance of Christ that He loved me and had a wonderful plan for my life. I thought I was an insignificant, scrawny, and ugly girl. And here I am, four years later, a confident young woman who has been accepted into every college she applied to. Im a leader in my youth group and a leader of this amazing club. I grew up in the church, so Id always known that Jesus was put on a cross for our sins. When I was saved, I realized what that meant. And now, as Im watching this trailer, its as if I can finally see it and fully come to terms with what Jesus truly did for us. And, for lack of a better term, Im amazed. I watch the rest of the trailer, tears attempting to accumulate in my eyes and chills tingling up my arms. If I can get a spiritual awakening just from watching the trailer, I hope you can get something from it too. Thank you for listening. youtube/watch?v=-Hsl5UG9O_c
