This is a quick look at the rest of this week. Well there is no doubt that it feels like January today... it will feel even more January like Wednesday and Thursday. Tuesday an Alberta Clipper will bring generally light snowfall...there will even be some accumulating snows for DC, Philly, and New York City on the order of an inch or two. Clippers are fast moving storms so huge amounts of snowfall will not be the case. Then another Clipper system will move through on Wednesday....behind this true arctic air will invade the Northeast and Midwest. Here are Current temperature charts....the cold air we see around the Upper Great Lakes and into Canada will make its way into the Northeast and Mid Atlantic States Wednesday and Thursday. You can see the flow is right out of the northwest Canada....The GFS and the NAM dont show the snow making it into New York City to DC Wednesday....but I think theyre not handling it quite right....so once again I expect some snow for NYC and Philly. Lows in the teens into the single digits for places as far south as Baltimore and DC..... windchills will be in the negative digits... with -20 feel like temps across northern New York and northern New England....parts of the Tug Hill and Adirondacks will have realfeel temps in the low -30s range. Friday we will see yet another Clipper approach, this one will be a little farther north in its track.... So the snow should stay out of Philly Baltimore, and DC...there could be a little snow in NYC..... The most likely places for snow would be northern New York State and New England. We will see temperatures modify as we get into next weekend...but it will still be rather cold. The bottom line is with three clippers in the pattern Monday-Friday will be unsettled with an active pattern. each clipper will bring light snow. Wednesday and Thursday will see the Great Lakes start up again..... but that is a separate post.
