This is a recently published and much interesting nature travel guide about the Eastern Rhodopes. This region, where Greece, Bulgaria and Turkey meet, holds one of the highest indexes of biodiversity in the continent, including raptors, reptiles, butterflies, dragonflies and orchids. From 2003 to 2005, I was fortunate to live in Dadia National Park, probably the most charismatic site in this region. I worked for the WWF in a European project aiming the conservation of a relict population of Eurasian Black Vultures and other raptors in the Balkan Peninsula. This work allowed me to know in deep this amazing region and get unforgettable encounters with wolfs, jackals, golden eagles, vultures, sea-eagles, vipers, semi-collared flycatchers, masked shrikes, etc. I will also never forget the visits to the Pomak region, where one of the least known and most isolated native ethnics in Europe lives. I am looking forward to my next visit to the Eastern Rhodopes, a magic place for nature and birdwatching trips!nhbs/title.php?bkfno=197538&ad_id=1508
