This is a shout out on behalf of two of our Community Partners -- Oregon’s SMART Reading Program and Mooberry Elementary School. They are seeking a volunteer site coordinator to continue the successful and impactful intergenerational SMART reading program at Mooberry this year. If you are interested in this volunteer position, see details below. SMART (Start Making A Reader Today) is an early literacy nonprofit that engages community volunteers to help PreK through third grade children become confident readers. In 2012-2013 SMART served over 8400 children at 245 sites. In 2013-2014, SMART will need your help to bring SMART to Oregon’s children. We are currently recruiting Site Coordinators. Programs run during school hours, Monday – Friday, from October 2013 through May 2014 and the number of volunteer hours for a Site Coordinator is dependent on the elementary school. Get more information by calling the SMART office (971.634.1616) or email Staci Sutton ([email protected]) See our website for the SMART Site Coordinator position description, application and a list of sites near you: getSMARToregon.org
