This is a small packet I had the fortune of acquiring as I participated in the 1993 10,000 person march, organized by Ka Lahui, a pro-federal recognition group, 21 years ago. Within this packet is a sampling of manifestos and notes from Ka Pakaukau (a group for total independence) and the Peoples International Tribunal, organized by Dr. Kekuni Blaisdell founder of Ka Pakaukau, which I also attended 21 years ago at the age of 16, witness to the testimonies of my cousins and aunties and uncles, Clarence Medeiros, Pele Hanoa, Clara Kakalia and many others. You will find excerpts of testimonies from past and present-day leaders some of which have gone back on their assertions of independence and non-support of federal recognition. You will find manifestos and meticulous nation building plans within this file- a small excerpt from my personal library. Some of our greatest minds have already asked the questions we are asking and have already attempted to answer them. We would do well to magnify work already done instead of duplicating it. We would do well to take the good and improve upon some of the challenges left unresolved. Either way education of past discussions is beneficial to our concerns today. Incidentally modern day organizers like Melissa Moniz and Kaleikoa Kaeo are also quoted. I thought it would be interesting to revisit their words at the tribunal.
