This is a stand i made to save my back for loading/unloading/storing some of the heavy machine tool accessories. i can dock up to the Bridgeport table, after raising the table to the appropriate height and slide either the big dividing head or the 12 rotary onto the table. One level lines up on one side or i roll it around the other way to slide the other level off, which allowed me to make provisions to dock with the table. Couldnt resist engine turning the slide-out tray (with ball detents) for the lathe collets. the large round rod has a conical plastic piece that is the same shape as the L0 spindle on my lathe, so i can hang the different chucks and the face-plate on them, for it, and just gently clamp the jaws onto the ends of the rounds to hold them in place. call it the Tower of Power .... pretty over-engineered, but so handy! the top is UMWH, under the big dividing head, and the next level has ball-bearing plates. i have studs or bolts that correspond to the machine attachment slots, to secure them to the stand. kind of custom, i guess, in that it is made for each machine tool component, but the bottom part ( which IS supported with a cross made of angle steel) still works great as a catch all.(of course,,,,, Nature doesnt favor a vacuum.). I even made a place to mount my Kurt 6 vise. Yes, a lot of time spent to save time ( and , mainly, my back!) and the hammer-tone paint is a bit over the top, but, why not! Part of what we do is the art and craftsmanship, not just making parts.... functional art as i like to call it!
